This 4 week series is perfect for someone brand new to yoga, or for someone who has started a practice but has questions. We provide the perfect environment for your friends and family to get turned on to their own yoga practice, so please do tell them about this new series.
We introduce the basics of yoga in a safe and supportive environment. We focus on the basic elements of standing poses, sun salutations, seated forward bends, twists, back bends and breath awareness.
8 week sessions
Tuesdays, 5:30 - 7:00pm
No experience necessary.
Classes are 90 minutes, and held in the Lunar room.

Come experience prenatal yoga with Solar Yoga co-owner Stephanie Mayer. Stephanie practiced and taught her first prenatal yoga session while pregnant with her baby girl, and she learned the benefits of the practice first-hand with her own empowering, drug-free childbirth! You will learn gentle and effective yoga postures, as well as meditation techniques to help keep you calm and focused.. before the birth, during, and after. This is a great practice for new moms, too! Come share the excitement of your baby with other expectant mothers, and tog tether learn how to make the most of this precious time!

Yoga for Teens Series
Stress-relief and empowerment for teens of all abilities. Taught by Nicole Calvano, RYT
Nicole Calvano, RYT, is founder and director of the The Infinite U. Her series empowers kids and teens of all abilities to feel secure, to embrace their inherent creativity, to be self-expressed, to love themselves, to make healthy, heart-centered choices, and ultimately, to shine.

Self-Healing Yoga Pracice for Cancer Patients and Cancer Survivors, with Elena
Saturdays 11:30 - 12:35pm
This yoga practice combines breathing exercises, movement, visualization, relaxation and meditation ~ to promote self healing.
Scientific research indicates, American Cancer Society, and many doctors agree, that yoga can help decrease pain, improve muscle strength and range of motion, reduce stress and fatique, improve sleep, lower blood pressure, assist the immune system, relieve anxiety and depression. All are important for gaining strength before surgery, during recovery, and sustaining quality of life.
Elena completed the Intensive Yoga for Survivors teacher training with her mentor Laura Kupperman, the founder of the program http://www.yogaforsurvivors.com.
Elena is priviledged to offer classes for cancer survivors in the Longmont area at Solar Yoga.
Classes are available at the privacy of your home or in the hospital to facilitate comfort during post-surgical recovery, or chemotherapy.

Learn at-home routines and new ways to practice postures you thought you couldn't do. Want to work on something challenging? Bring your questions and your fearlessness! Little yoginis can enjoy kid's yoga Sundays @ 1:00 - 2:00 pm. Parents: you can stay and watch, or leave them with us and we'll make sure they are safe and have fun!!

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) was developed in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn and has been the basis for numerous scientific studies on stress and health. In the MBSR course mindfulness tools (sitting & walking meditation, gentle yoga, body scan) are learned as a way to tap inner resources for living “the full catastrophe.”
This course will help you exploring the possibilities for:
• Lasting decreases in physical and psychological symptoms of stress
• An increased ability to relax
• An ability to cope more effectively with both short and long-term stressful situations.
• Greater energy and enthusiasm for life
Janet Solyntjes, MA, CYT leads workshops and retreats in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. She has been practicing mind-body disciplines since 1977 and teaches mindfulness meditation at Naropa University and Shambhala Meditation Centers.
